It's not so-much the thread, but the boards themselves.  The game isn't riding as high as it was, no new content is sceduled for it... Things are just stagnating now.

I just had a nice 10 day vacation....and never even booted up galciv.  I mainly was playing Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 or MoO 1, if I was even on my PC.

actually last night was the first time i booted up GalCiv in about two months; there had been something on these boards (i think it was the "When IS it time to go to war" thread, and it piqued my interest in the game again. Of course...im just in the ship designer right nwo

If any of that catnip falls into my hard cider or cheese from there....I would have to pay a visit to down under and settle the score.

From my past experiences, there are only 2 ways to drink Torian Ale:

1. Not at all 
2. Very, VERY Heavily

I still come by almost daily but there is little about GalCiv to speak on anymore, so most of the boards seems to be going to Impulse or random BS. I am glad to see a few newer players popping up asking questions, somewhat making it look like the GC2 forum again. Even if some of the questions are ones that had been answered in the past. Can't fault the peeps though with the search being Fubared, but I just can't always get up the gumption to repeat the same answers I've given in the past.

I have played some GC2 lately , but just messing around mainly. Been caught up on Farcry2 and just played through COD4 that a friend sent me for Christmas.

Not sure if I'll get up the patience anytime soon to run a fullon high scoring meta game, but I still have fun with it just playing scenarios and custom maps .

The MV empire rankings have not updated for more than a week now, starting with when they had that server problem.  I made a post about it, but havent had a response from any SD people.  I dont know if or when they intend to fix it.  Maybe it's just the holidays, or maybe they arent going to.  It would be nice to know either way though.

Yeah the MV is still active, and I know there are games submitted to my empire very day.  I hope they do fix it.

Your defenses of catnip, bread ties, mylar balls, feathers and water-filled moat did nothing to stop me.  It was very wise for KP to diversify his military.

i haven't played GC2 in a while. i've barely played any games at all in the last month. i've mainly been watching shows and getting ready to move. but i still check the 'my replies' page daily.

I'm not gonna lie - this page is gettin more and more depressing every time I check it. Most of you guys seem to think that the GalCiv2 craze is over. Have you ever stopped to think that maybe this is just like the US economy? It used to be really good, but now it sucks really bad. However, it'll eventually come around, and I hope the MV and forums (and the overall love of the game) will come back around, too. Stardock or whoever's in charge of making the New Frontiers game just need to get a move on things. The future for Galactic Civilizations depends on it!

I hope that I start to see some of you older players back on the MV sometime soon. Maybe if the developers see that people still love the game, they will get off of their butts, then proceed to sit back down on their butts again, but this time in front of a computer so that they can finish the game! I still think that this is a really cool game, and I'm gonna keep playin it no matter what (unless New Frontiers comes out).

New Frontiers will be good for Galciv 2 for many reasons.

Couldn't agree with you more, Seth. I think every GalCiv2 fan needs New Frontiers to come out, and soon. Like you said - for many reasons.
