Ahhh, Here's the good ole ToE thread . Anyone else having to wade through like 15 Impulse posts and a couple of random blog(at least that's what they're calling them) entries? Getting harder and harder to find game related stuff anymore

the impulse stuff is pretty annoying. like, complete OT stuff doesn't circulate across the main page, but all this impulse stuff does? i'm not even using impulse yet.

as for it getting harder to find game stuff, that's a good thing i think. means no one's putting as much effort into kicking butt as we are

Impulse is the new download manager from SD that is to replace SDC. It has more than a few bugs, or so say the fanboys, and it has clogged GC2.com.

Personally i have had nothing but smooth sailing with Impulse...and i'm meant to be one of the few who is meant to experience problems seeing that i use Vista64

I had a few arguments with the whiners...just to prove i am evil....After Marshall's and i crusade against the OTF some time ago...a year maybe..i have not really bothered speaking out....it's easier for me to be civil if i just shut my mouth..

Zubaz has been a WC mod for some time (a year or more?), and while his power may extend to other sites, I don't believe his responsibility does. Likewise I have powers on pretty much all the sites, but leave the non-games forums to their respective moderators unless there's an off-hours emergency that needs attention.

Alright, in the current MVL round, I'm having a terrible time getting an alliance -any alliance. I've got 7+ and 0- in the relations report with the Torians, but it won't budge from friendly to close. Do I just have to wait? What's up? I've got a 10-1 military rating, a bunch of trade, same alignment, I'm not sure what else to do. Frustrating. Ah well .

Any suggestions/explanations would be appreciated.

Not that big a deal one way or the other, I just questioned it since there was no visible indication of it. Obviously once Brad spoke up about it that ended that discussion. However he's now suddenly sprouting a Moderator Tag where the Stardock folks have their label and if you check his profile he's listed as a "Super Wizop" whereas just yesterday it was citizen albeit a level 7 citizen certainly indicated some high level of something.

Clearly thesa are a direct response to my questioning his authority.

However I'm still fairly unsatisfied about the whole situation that the Impulse forum along with the OTF are now consistently more than 50% of the threads listed in the recent posts list on what is purported to be the GalCiv2 forum. With the traffic we've had for awhile now perhaps the name should be changed to the Impulse/OTF forum.

I think it's legitimate to complain about this which is what I've tried to do but to no avail. I'd simply like our GalCiv2 site back and don't see as how that is really too much to ask but apparently it is.

well it does take a bit of time no matter how much they like you. you know, you don't get married until you've lived together for at least a few months, you don't move in until you've been on vacation together, and you don't do the horizontal tango until you're sure they'll get an inheritance. or something like that.

I'm in August of game year 2. I've been at +7 and friendly for 6 months or so with one race and 3 with the other. Is it just a matter of waiting long enough then?

Yes. It might even take up to a total of 2 years.

that would be my guess. IIRC i don't think i've ever seen a political win in less than 2 reported years (3 years played), and it sounds like you're doing everything right and just need to wait.

In my game I had to wait for that final "+our historic friendship" before it gave it too me, but I was evil and trying to get a neutral civ allied so I sweated it for a while thinking it might not happen.
