Ooooh...imagine Mr. Morden asking the Twilight cast, "What do you want?".

If ya want Vampires and such...keep away from Hollywood US- highschool-teen bullshit and stick with Sookie Stackhouse....

And Bab5.....yes...

side note - true blood was rot this season.  Utter rot.  It was like the original star trek tv show at the beginning of the season... sets included.

how very true pacov. though if it were not for Anna paquins flesh, i don't think i would have ever cast an eye on the show at all.
And Babylon 5 was good, but really lost its way in the latter seasons...or so i thought anyway.

No love for Earth: Final Conflict?

Starcandy, all's cool.

Yeah, no probs, Doc. Got me some shut eye, so you won't have to resort to this

Watched it briefly in the beginning. It seemed like an excuse for mild porn, albeit with a slightly better storyline.

What's your opinion of the 'new' Star Trek film? I thought it sucked because they changed the entire storyline and put the cast in an alternate reality. One of the things that turned me off to the movie was when planet Vulcan was destroyed because the fleet was where ..... Sorry but that just doesn't click. Visually it was pretty good but lost it big time when they didn't stay true to the original.

I don't think it was ever going to remain true to the original. J.J. Abrams is (from what I've read) a Star Wars fan more than a Star Trek fan, plus, it's trying to bring in a new audience. Personally, I was always more a fan of Next Generation and Voyager when it comes to Star Trek. The original series never really did much for me.

Yeah, I hear you booing and hissing me.

I'll get my coat!

Nothing of the sort Starcandy. The Next Generation was, in the beginning, pretty sucky until they changed the uniforms and made the cast more believable. Season two on was very good but throughout the series the one thing that stopped it from going further than it did was Wesley Crusher's character, that dude couldn't act for shit. As for Voyager ..... yeah ... that was more down to earth and IMO one of the better take offs. The other spin-off, Enterprise, good in the beginning but went downhill really fast when the PTB's screwed it up by, guess what, taking them into an alternate reality that had nothing whatsoever to do with the series in general. That's why it failed, not staying true to the story line.

I thought the new ST movie was right on the money, and i think that its commercial success reflects that. No ST movie has ever set the box office on fire, but the latest once came the closest.
Being (somewhat) financially successful aside, i think Abrams had to go down a different timeline, There is just far too much ST backstories and history to try an tell all new tales without tripping on the toes of previous events.
A clean slate allows huge freedom and for ST to be taken in a new direction.

You have to admit, after TNG, DS9 and VOY, the well was getting a little dry, no?

DS9 was my favorite, with TNG next. VOY had great stories, and massive potential, but i think the cast let it down. IMHO it was the most poorly cast ST franchise yet, although by an episode by episode basis, VOY probably has the top ones, it just took 3 seasons too long to develop.

Only reason i even turned it on. No bare chested Anna Paquin and i would not have given it a second glance.
(yes, im that shallow!)

As long as no idiot defends the US ver of Being Human as being better than the ORIGINAL.

Be honest...they have NEVER improved on an original.

That may have come on a Friday night, but it was a "Jafo Pearl".

Not great, but not Transformers II either. I'd say give it time and see what they do next. It has potential. (Of course, that's the same thing I originally thought about AVATAR, but whatever)

Godfather 2 and Empire Strikes Back?

If you mean just TV shows, i thought the US version of Whose line is it Anyway was much batter than the UK one.

Other than that, most have failed, epically.

Babylon 5. Best show ever

Agreed--I just watched "Call to Arms" and the "Crusade" series and darn if it doesn't make you want to run out and model and make a mod.

*Sniff*...I miss Mr. Morden and those cute little Shadow guys.
