But let me get this right, on your B'day you bought your missus a new monitor!.

You and my missus are never allowed to talk!!!

If she got wind of that. i'd be be playing the self tuned instrument for quite some time i think...

Well, her monitor was only a 19 inch and I wanted her to have at least as nice of a system as I have.  She resisted at first, but it only makes sense.  That, and I don't know when we'll be going that far north into Austin again.

It's ok though.  She's talking about buying me an upgrade for my media system to make up for it.  GTS250, ASUS Motherboard and 4GB of 1066 DDR2 to go with my quad core CPU that's languishing in my desk.  All things work out.

GTS250

dys will probably weigh in on this as well, but the GTX260 (216 cores) may be a better idea, assuming it's within the budget.

Though I guess one should also consider what you're running on now...

on Apr 10, 2009

I'm open to ideas.  A few more dollars is ok as long as it can be justified.  My budget is always a moving target as long as there's value for money.

Right now, it's an X1950Pro.

Love those guys.  Running an X1950GT myself.  But it can't Fold anymore (for a long time, actually), so I "need" (read: want) something newer.  For my purposes, the GTX260 c216 would be far superior to the GTS250 (aka 9800GTX/9800GTX+), but for yours, it might not be worth the extra cash, particularly as you're looking at (I believe, based on your link in another thread) a $130 GTS250 (gotta love EVGA).

The one I was looking at for myself is also EVGA and $130.00, but it's at Frys in Austin.  I like being able to actually hold these things in my hand, read the box, etc.  Old school perhaps, but there's just something about having it physically in hand when deciding on a purchase.

If it's the same price, more power to you.

Those of us without a Fry's within 150 miles just have to make do.

@MottiKhan, Is it right to use your avatar because someone in this thread called Jethro420 is using it?

I thought you should know about this.

I've seen that one somewhere before.  He's a mighty handsome fellow, isn't he?

Actually that avatar is not the same on as Motti's look at the smile and color tone. BTW I've used that avatar before here.

Isn't the logo from the band Disturbed, saw it on T-shirt of theirs not long ago.

Didn't we discuss your avatar once before too.

My latest game.  This one wasn't a mumbler.  It was the older style I played way back when with some refinements of later strategies.  We're getting a variety going now.

No econ event, but none needed.  In fact, I don't know what I would have done with one in this game.  I'll try to refine it further.

Mumblefratz qoute      "The bottom line is that the ability to edit the OP of a thread that in some cases can be 3 or more years old with many *thousands* of replies needs to be preserved. If there has to be some kind of arbitrary limit on the “view edits” history that eventually causes someone to be unable to edit their OP then I think that either needs to be fixed or if it can’t be fixed then the view edit functionality should be scrapped."     Mumblefratz qoute

Mumblefratz is helping with my empire thread and I am impressed because he is really good at what he does. I gave him a karma for this too.

Oh if you want to read the begaining click here.
