I just like say that My Empire has rose from the bottoms of the ranks to rank 36 with just me and I think My Empire  started back in August 2008.  So my  Goal will be that My Empire will be  in the top 20 before my little Empire is a year old.

@Motti, I see a 2,000,000 score  from you very soon so have another ,   my congrats to you

I've asked this elsewhere but I am mildly frustrated and would like to solicit other's experiences about the number of planets they get. I've been playing all-abudant gigantic universes. In my first game I got 555 planets. In my next I got 537 planets. Then one after that I got 520 planets. My current game I only received 508 planets.

Does anyone know if, as your character keeps playing, you get fewer planets in each successive game? Or am I having a run of incredibly poor luck? Does anyone know what the range of colonizable planets is ordinarily in a giga-abundant game? It's not nearly as easy to score well with only 508 planets versus 555.

I commented previously that there's no reason that should be the case; I'll give it a look later today or early tomorrow.  Right now, I need a nap.

In the past with DL and DA there was always a range you could expect to get of planets on that setup, (Estimated)DL= 430-475, DA=700-765(later versions). I see no reason TA should be different as far as just having a range you can expect. Though with the nerfing of things like that you never know.

Mine is topping off at 504. Dadburnit. I saw something about deleting .xml files from the metaverse folder on one's pc in another thread. I wonder if doing that would help (assuming that there is some sort of diabolical planet-count depreciation dujigamabob).

In C:\Documents and Settings\...\My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\Metaverse there are files named something like 20090305170239984.xml, which seem to record previous game data. Perhaps those are the culprits.

I have not noticed this with DA at least.  My planet count is always pretty consistent with a little over 500 on a huge-all abundant, and a lot more on my first giga-all abundant I'm doing now.  I thought I had heard a while back that TA planet count was significantly lower than DA.

I'm wondering if there isn't an overall tile count in place as opposed to planets. My last DA game had 703 planets in it, yet I was able to pull off higher pop and higher income than a previous DA game that had 764 planets. I wonder if it just all evens out with less, but better planets and nearly the same overall tile count.

Something else to test!

I was going through my games and thought this was a little over the top.  They don't stack too easily.

Boxes, eh?  I remember recieving gameboxes in the distant past....how archaic.

Just spotted your most recent game CL.

Another 1M+ game.

Well done!!

Thanks Neilo. It was by a gnat's eyelash over the million, but I'll happily take it. I had a lot fewer planets this time, and they seemed of poorer quality than normal. The econ event came late too. Balancing those downsides I did figure out a few tweaks that improved my game. If I can just get a kinder map on my next game I may be able to push this above 1.1 million. I think that is the maximum though for my style of play.
